Domaine de la Sarazinière - Philippe and Guillaume Trébignaud
Founded in the 1920s by Claude Seigneuret, the family estate of La Sarazinière is now run by Philippe Trébignaud, with his son Guillaume gradually taking over.
The 10-hectare estate is located in the villages of Bussières, Serrières, and Fuissé in Burgundy (Mâconnais). These three villages offer a wide variety of soils, exposures, and cultivation styles.
La Sarazinière produces wines under the AOPs Pouilly-Fuissé, Mâcon Bussières, and Bourgogne Aligoté, using southern Burgundy’s emblematic grape varieties: Aligoté (0.70 hectares), Chardonnay (5 hectares) for white wines, and Gamay noir à jus blanc (4 hectares) for reds.
The work is meticulous and rigorous, respecting the terroirs. The wine is made without fining or added yeast (using only indigenous yeasts), and the vinifications are simple and delicate. The estate is certified in Organic Agriculture.
The two winemakers limit inputs, particularly sulfur, in their wines, making them especially light and easy-drinking, while retaining complexity.
We have selected the historic Mâcon-Bussières "Claude Seigneuret" cuvée made from the estate's oldest Chardonnays, as well as the inaugural Pouilly-Fuissé cuvée named VII, referring to the seven plots that compose this 100% Chardonnay blend.
Our selection of wines from the estate:
- Mâcon-Bussières "Claude Seigneuret" dry white
- Pouilly-Fuissé "VII" dry white
