Confidential Jurancon by Jardins de Babylone
If the Dagueneau family is emblematic for the Pouilly-Fumé appellation, they are also at the origin of a small treasure of 3 hectares lost in the middle of Jurancon: the well-named Jardin de Babylone.
Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau, son of the illustrious Didier Dagueneau, won the reins of the estate with his sister and produced with talent the mythical cuvees Pure Sang and Silex (winner of the vineyard of the year in 2016 by the Revue du Vin de France). But his work is not limited to magnifying the Sauvignon of Loire.
Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau invests with the same enthusiasm in this second family estate on the slopes of Aubertin in AOC Jurancon, Les Jardins de Babylone. Since the 2000s, the Dagueneau (accompanied by Guy Pautrat) are working to make this confidential production famous. These terraced vines set on a clay soil and rolled pebbles, called Pouding, produce wines of incredible finesse.
Elegant, deep and refined, the production of Les Jardins de Babylone comes mainly from the Petit Manseng and Camaralet grape variety. Manual harvests, fermentation under new wood, these light wines reflect the Dagueneau spirit.
