Château Le Devay, ambitious Rhône wines made by passionate winemakers
At Château Le Devay,Florence and Jean-Charles Fournet make Rhône wines from Viognier, Roussanne and Syrah grapes. Situated on the same schist soils as in Côte-Rôtie, the winemakers aim to produce great Northern Rhône wines according to biodynamic principles.
Located in Saint-Romain-en-Gal, on the right bank of the Rhône at an altitude of 360 meters, Château Le Devay has belonged to the Fournet family since 2004. The vineyard is a small island of vines surrounding their home. They produce white and red wines with the IGP Collines Rhodaniennes appellation. Their 2.2 ha of vines enable them to produce 8,000 all-too-rare bottles a year, on the edges of Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie.
The result: fresh, taut wines made by a passionate winemaking couple.
