Domaine de Terrebrune - Reynald Delille - Bandol
The Domaine de Terrebrune is located in Ollioule, Provence, and covers 35 hectares of AOP Bandol, facing the Mediterranean Sea.
Taken over by Georges Delille in 1963, the estate is now under the care of his son Reynald, who was joined in 2020 by Jean d'Arthuys, a businessman with a passion for wine.
In order to preserve the vines and the soils, the vineyard is managed in accordance with organic and biodynamic farming methods.
The estate benefits from a microclimate regulated by the maritime influence and the prevailing winds (notably the Mistral). Its name, Terrebrune, is inspired by its exceptional terroir of limestone and brown clay inherited from the Triassic period (-200/250 million years).
The estate produces very classic AOC Bandol wines with a majority of Mourvèdre (for the reds and rosés). Mourvèdre is a unique and singular grape variety that produces great wines with exceptional ageing potential. It is indeed a grape variety that needs time to assert its identity and originality, and when it comes from the famous Terrebrune soil, the wines become magical after a few years, in all three colors!
In summary, Terrebrune has been producing for years one of the best Bandol wines, with finesse, complexity and elegance, in red, white and rosé. The mineral structure and the constant freshness of the wines of the Domaine de Terrebrune blend perfectly with the fruit to offer wines with incredible ageing potential as well as wines for immediate pleasure, without exaggerated structure as is often the case in Bandol.
