Jerome Constantin at Chateau La Valetanne produces top wines from Provence

jerome-constantin-valetanne-provenceChateau la Valetanne was taken over by a Danish industrialist in love with Provence and a wine enthusiast (and stayed in the country), a few kilometers away from the refreshing Mediterranean (let's think of the vines!). No expense is too good to achieve a clear objective: Become one of the best wines of the region.

Not necessarily the best known, since it has only 14 hectares of vines, there is no question of being surpassed by success and look for volumes at the expense of quality, often in relation to yields: the vintage Vieilles Vignes is a very classical blend of Grenache and Cinsault varieties, with very low yields: 35 hl / ha, which is ridiculous compared to other Côtes de Provence, where you can benefit from the appellation up to 55 hl / Ha.

The vintage called Les Larmes boasts excellence, and is produced only a few thousand copies when the vintage allows. It is mainly intended for great gourmet restaurants and quite difficult to find.

The brand new winery benefits from the latest technical evolutions, and the director, Jérôme Constantin, debauched with a "great" neighbor, does not hide his happiness to work freely for lovers of quality who give him the means of their ambitions: Table sorting, stainless steel vats, semi-muid breeding just the time to enrich the grapes harvested manually at perfect maturity, and at night to keep them fresh and flavor intact. In short, everything to vinify a superb wine from Provence.

Lastly, it is an organic vineyard certified by Ecocert ... which among other environmental promises (absence of pesticides in particular) makes it possible to ensure a use of sulphites almost zero, and therefore tomorrows without surprise. A not insignificant asset, which is not highlighted at the Ritz or Matignon where it is served ;-)
