The Cordaillat Estate and its great Reuilly whites, reds, and rosés.
Pascal Dethune produces great Loire wines at the Cordaillat estate in the Reuilly appellation. He cultivates three grape varieties: Pinot Noir for reds, Sauvignon for whites, and Pinot Gris for rosés.
The estate was founded in the mid-1990s by Chantal and Michel Cordaillat. It is located in the heart of Berry, in the AOP Reuilly region of Central Loire. In 2017, the estate was taken over by Pascal Dethune, a former senior executive who switched careers to pursue his passion for the great wines of the Loire Valley. This grandson of a winemaker continues the legacy: maintaining the estate’s name, its infrastructure, and the team in place, including the oenologist and cellar master, Stéphane Vaillant.
The vineyard spans 14 hectares and covers 4 of the 7 municipalities in the Reuilly appellation. Production is divided into 55% Reuilly white (Sauvignon), 25% Reuilly red (Pinot Noir), and the remainder in Reuilly rosé (Pinot Gris).
The soils are composed of clay-limestone or clay-sandy types, with various exposures. The vineyard is managed with sustainable practices, without insecticides or anti-botrytis treatments. Great care is taken in grass management and soil cultivation. The estate is certified High Environmental Value and is committed to eliminating plastic by 2024, noting that its employees do not travel more than 15 km to work.
