Domaine Chapelle - Jean-Francois et Yvette Chapelle - Santenay
Located in the village of Santenay in the south of the Côte de Beaune, Domaine Chapelle has belonged to the same winemaking family since 1893.
The family's experience and know-how have been passed down from generation to generation. Jean-François Chapelle and his wife Yvette have been in charge since 1991. Their son Simon joined them in 2015 after studying viticulture, and represents the fifth generation.
The Chapelle family has opted for organic farming that respects nature and the environment. As early as 1989, weed control was eliminated. In 2006, Jean-François Chapelle was the first Santenay winemaker to convert his entire vineyard to organic certification (2008).
"For us, each wine is the story of an alliance between the terroirs that support us, that we have received from our elders, and the men who work them and bring them to life."
This alliance is symbolized by two rings in the domaine's logo.
The wines of the Chapelle family are exceptional, truly reflecting the terroir. The vineyard extends over 20 hectares, in the Côte de Nuits to the north, as well as in the Côte de Beaune, as far as Santenay.
