Domaine Fontaine Gagnard, Grand Crus of the Côte de Beaune
The Domaine Fontaine Gagnard produces exceptional wines from Burgundy in prestigious appellations such as Chassagne Montrachet, Bâtard Montrachet, Volnay, and Pommard, recognized as among the finest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of the Côte de Beaune.
The family’s experience and skill, combined with premier cru and grand cru vineyards, have built the estate's reputation.
Fontaine Gagnard is a family-owned estate founded in 1985, now managed by the third generation, led by Céline, who joined the estate in 2007. The family has been involved in viticulture for several centuries. The estate has remained small, with 12 hectares of vineyards, mainly located in Chassagne-Montrachet, where the family owns ten Premier Crus! They also have a few hectares in Volnay and Pommard.
The estate follows traditional winemaking practices: manual harvesting, clarification, and aging in oak barrels. Great care is taken in the choice of oak and wood quality to bring out the wines' finesse and purity. White wines are aged for 1 year, while red wines mature for 18 months in barrels. The estate practices sustainable viticulture: plowing, regular soil analysis, and replacing weakened vines.
Domaine Fontaine Gagnard produces outstanding wines from some of the best vineyards in Burgundy and is now considered one of the renowned names of the Côte de Beaune.
