Philippe Alliet, a reference in Chinon

Domaine Philippe Alliet à Chinon
Very fine wines from Chinon made by Claude and Philippe Alliet.
From "Vieilles Vignes" vintage to the fine wine "Coteau de Noire", through "Huisserie", very fine wines for all guards.

In 1985, Philippe Alliet took over from his father and his uncle, the latter having in turn succeeded their father. Chinon is a family affair, and Pierre Alliet, the fourth generation, is already in place to learn and then carry the torch to the head of Chinon.

Alliet, with his longtime friend Bernard Baudry, is known as Chinon at the highest level in the Cabernet Franc hierarchy. A simple and accessible range that you can drink young or that can be aged!

"Tradition" is a first approach raised in vats, "Vieilles Vignes", raised several months in casks of several wines, is finer and concentrated. "Huisserie" is very complete, thanks to its adapted breeding (10% new wood) and "Coteau de Noire" (30% new half-muids) rivals with Bernard Baudry's "Croix Boissee" for the first place as best Chinon!

The rare white chenins (less than a hectare!) are magnificent.

Castaing, Juin 2024). 91+/100. Crafted from old vines (70 to 80 years old) on clay, gravelly soils, the 2021 Chinon Vieilles Vignes is instantly brilliant in the glass. Despite a slight reduction, it offers up aromas of blueberries, cassis, flowers, violet, rose petals and cedar. Medium to full-bodied, layered and...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Y. Castaing, Juin 2024). 93/100. The 2021 Chinon L'Huisserie is derived from 23-year-old vines planted on flinty clay soils. Offering up a reduced, complex bouquet of violet, blueberries, cassis, cedar and licorice, it’s medium to full-bodied and perfectly balanced with a layered, structured mid-palate complemented with...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Y. Castaing, Juin 2024). 92/100. The acidities in the 2020 vintage were lower compared to those in 2022, rendering the wines of this vintage more accessible and straightforward. Indeed, with aromas of spices, dark berries and flowers, the 2020 Chinon L'Huisserie, picked on September 18, possesses a medium to full-bodied...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Y. Castaing, Juin 2024). 95/100. This site is known to produce relatively dense, powerful wines in ripe vintages, yet the 2021 Chinon Coteau de Noiré stands out as exceptional. It unfolds in the glass with aromas of lead pencil, licorice, dark wild berries and cassis. Full-bodied, dense and chunky, it’s seamless and velvety...
