Le Fief Noir - Alexis Soulas et Dominique Sirot
Le Fief Noir is a 30-hectare wine estate located in the heart of Anjou Noir in the commune of Saint-Lambert du Lattay.
It is in 2014 that Dominique Sirot and Alexis Soulas, both passionate about wine and the work of the land decided to take over this estate which was called until then: Domaine des Chesnaies.
It was during a common experience in a Corsican domain that the two oenologist friends met and after several years of working together, their project to take over a domain emerged.
The two friends then started to visit different wineries and to make proposals to take over on the continent. When they came for the first time to the Domaine des Chesnaies in 2012, they were completely seduced. They then left Corsica, where they worked for several years, to come and settle in 2014 in Anjou with their wife and children.
Since then, the two young winemakers have been cultivating their chenin, cabernet and grolleau vines with passion on a beautiful diversity of soil. They wish to write a new page in the history of the estate by making it evolve into something that resembles them.
In 2017, The estate was renamed Le Fief Noir, in homage to the terroir of black Anjou. New cuvées have been created and the domain is conducted in organic agriculture. Indeed, many operations at the domain are done manually in order to preserve the vines. Their 2015 vintage is their first to obtain the Ecocert organic certification.
Le Fief noir offers a diverse range of wines, representative of the magnificent terroirs of Saint Lambert du Lattay.
